Water Ceremonies
Like the medicine
fire, Water ceremonies have always been an essential part of our culture and
way of life. This particular ceremony (above) is performed on the full moon at times
prior to the birth of the expected child; preparing both mother and child for the
great event. The Creator sends the proper Spirits for this purpose and to
reveal what & who the child is to be in life. This is the beginning of many ceremonies
which continues throughout the life of every Iyadvnadi Aniyvwiya.
(Traditional Cherokee)
To
forget or discontinue our ways is to cease our existence as Aniyvwiya and
become Ayonega. The Ayonega say that our ways
are lost and that even if we
knew the old ways, it would not be possible to practice them.
This is true only
for the Ayonega!
The Creator has
the power to relate to everypeople in the ways he has established for them and the
power to continue.
